24 Sep by Jessica Johnston
Essendon Football Club will host it’s inaugural AFLW Community Game during week 5 of the 2024 NAB AFLW Season, celebrating its community and inviting you and members of our community to come to the footy with Essendon, back at it’s spiritual heartland, Windy Hill.
Game: Essendon vs Melbourne
Location: Windy Hill – Napier Street, Essendon, 3040.
Date & Time: Friday 27th September, 2:05pm (Gates Open from 12.30pm)
The Community Game is an inclusive event that promotes the message of welcoming everyone to Australian Rules football, Windy Hill and Essendon Football Club. Essendon is extremely proud of its community and this match will celebrate them. Spanning from its humble beginnings in the heart of Essendon, formative years at the iconic Windy Hill football ground and migration to the NEC Hangar at Melbourne Airport and the north-west corridor of Melbourne, the Essendon community intersects the football club at every point.
As part of celebrating our community we will be offering free tickets, but an additional offer to the Essendon Sporting Sections clubs for women and girls to be part of the Guard of Honour. This is open to players, coaches, and volunteers, as we celebrate the important role you play within the Essendon sporting community, and your connection to the club.
If you would like to express your interest, please register through this link https://forms.office.com/r/Hzdz20aU7g … and please register multiple times should you be registering for multiple people from the one family. The opportunity will be capped at 40 people, so we will prioritise a cross section of codes to help capture as many sports in the Essendon community as possible.
If you don’t want to be part of the guard of honour, that is fine, more information about the free ticket offer can be seen here: https://tb.essendonfc.com.au/t…
We hope to have you involved in this special opportunity for Essendon Community Sporting Club members.
